Patriotism

This past week I have noticed a strong sense of patriotism from me fellow countrymen.  Yes, the Olympics were already underway, but I wasn’t until the “match” where people became passionate.  When the US and Canada played last week, with the US winning the first time, there was something in the air.  There was a level of confidence, a strong chin if you will.  It seemed to boil this past weekend in the Gold Medal game.  Canada came out victorious, barely, but this country seemed unified again.  It honestly doesn’t happen as often as I would like. I go visit other countries and constantly see a sense of pride and awareness.  Even if this only happens ever 4 years it is completely worth it. You cannot replace the feeling of patriotism. It is deep within our veins and our soul. Is it in yours?
