Oscar

The Academy Awards have come and gone this year. Oscar made his annual appearance  and of course it is the talk of town.  Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were once again brilliant.  Joke after joke came from their mouths.  Laughing and clapping followed their every word.  The stars were out in all of their glory of course.  George Clooney was very gracious as he was constantly bombarded by practical jokes.  The night belonged to “the Hurt Locker”.  The movie won best picture along with best director.  Now this movie was not very mainstream, but its power surpassed its box office presence.  This powerful movie which was based upon a journalists following of one man fighting for his country oversees was truly touching. The director, Kathryn Bigelow surpassed her ex-husband and his monumental Avatar. You could see the disdain on James Cameron’s face.  All I have to say is that the right movie won.  What do you think?

Did anyone see Avatar this weekend?  If not, here are some great reviews about the movie.  I have not heard anything bad about the movie.  I plan on seeing it and besides, it raked in a whopping $73 million in box-office sales this past opening weekend.
