He’s hilarious, he’s witty, he’s one of my favorite actors….he’s Steve Carell! He’s so super funny in ‘The Office’ tv series and equally as hilarious in ‘Evan Almighty’.
Now he’s the voice of the lead villainous character, Gru in the animated film, ‘Despicable Me’, which hits theaters on Friday, July 9th!
Don’t be dismayed; his character is actually a funny villain! Watch the trailer and check out local movie times.

Celebrate the Fourth of July at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sunday evening. The doors will open (for free admission) after the seventh inning (around 8pm) and the fireworks will begin at 10pm.

Durham Farmers’ Market

Looking for some locally grown fresh produce, vegetables, honey, fruits, baked goods (pies, cakes, bread, pastries), and crafts? If so, you better head over to the Durham Farmers’ Market this Saturday morning!
Local farmers and craft persons from Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Cary, and surrounding areas of North Carolina sell between 8 am and noon. The Farmers’ Market will take place each Saturday morning now through late November.

Bull City Chili Challenge

This annual event features sampling and judging of a wide selection of tasty chili which showcases local restaurants and produce. Tasting kits are available for purchase for $4 and you’ll be able to sample chilis and salsas from some of the area’s best cooks!

Memorial Day Heron Hikes

Looking for something fun to do outdoors on Memorial Day?
The Memorial Day Heron Hikes, at Glennstone Preserve, are 1-mile slow hikes through the woods to one of the Piedmont’s largest great blue heron rookeries.
First hike will focus on bird identification, second will focus on environmental education and native plants. If you attend be sure to wear sturdy shoes, long pants and bring bug spray. Also don’t forget to bring your binoculars.
