Every year, people throughout the world celebrate this great holiday.  Everyone puts on green, starts attempting “wee” Irish accents, sings, dances, and drinks like the “true” Irishman that they are.  I wonder however, what are we really celebrating?  Of course we are celebrating St. Patrick who is a patron saint of Ireland.  It has not always been what it is do. This actually originated as a Christian holiday and eventually became a day of feast. Originally, the official color associated with St. Patrick was blue!! Of course that changed over the years as well, eventually giving way to the proud Irish green.  Those are just two facts associated with the foundations of this holiday. So, tomorrow when you are watching your parade in your green shirt, with your shamrock and clovers, holding a pint, remember that this is a special holiday for the people of Ireland!! Now, go have a WEE time!! I know that I will!
