Planning a party and wondering how to entertain your guests in a small space?
Here are some tips:
Make Some Space
Move your furniture around or out of the main party room. Think, do I want my guests to stand or sit? If you are going to have a lot of people over, you may just want to store your furniture in a bedroom or a friend’s house. Stow away the coffee table and bringing the dining room chairs into the living room.
Food
No matter what the theme, try to consider how your guests are going to eat the food. Knife and fork meals probably won’t work when you don’t have a place for your guests to sit.
Stick with finger foods, chips and dip, brownies, cupcakes, chicken wings and pizza to my guests so that it’s easy for them to eat with a plate on their lap.
Entertainment
Consider your space when thinking about what you will do. Doing the Electric Slide or Cupid Shuffle may end up annoying your neighbors, so maybe have “do it yourself” food bars
(make your own tacos, ice cream sundae, etc) or have a viewing party for your favorite show.
Have a friend bring their Ipod to hook up to a stereo for tunes, or guests can take turns playing Wii Sports.
The most important thing about hosting a party in your apartment is that you focus on having fun. No matter how big or small your apartment is, a little ingenuity and creativity will make your party great.
